The opening ceremony of the 18th Asian Games is scheduled to be held in Jakarta on Saturday (August 18) at the GBK main stadium. Starting at 5:30 PM IST, the broadcast of the Opening Ceremony will commence on Sony Television network in India. At 6:15 PM IST is when the traditional 'Parade of Athletes' will get underway. Young javelin-thrower Neeraj Chopra will carry India's flag and lead the contingent.

इंडोनेशिया में 18 अगस्त से शुरू हो रहे 18वें एशियन गेम्स की तैयारियां जोरों पर हैं। ऐसे में इस प्रतियोगिता में जलवा बिखेरने के लिए सभी प्रतियोगी देशों के खिलाड़ी जकार्ता पहुंच चुके हैं। वहीं इस बेहद अहम प्रतियोगिता की ओपनिंग सेरेमनी शनिवार को जकार्ता के जीबीके मेन स्टेडियम में भारतीय समयानुसार 5.30 pm को शुरू होगी। इस कार्यक्रम का सीधा प्रसारण सोनी टेलीविजन पर किया जाएगा। वहीं इसके बाद 6.15 पर परंपरागत एथलीट्स की परेड का आयोजन किया जाएगा। वहीं भारत की ओर से युवा जुवेनाइल थ्रोअर नीरज चोपड़ा भारत का ध्वज फहराते नजर आएंगे।
